Study of Tiger in Long Grass
Print image size: 16 x 24"
©Phyllis Frazier
When we encounter an animal, wild, it is the gaze
we remember the expression of the face which arrests
us
locks our own memory to the moment and fixes it in
time, and somehow beyond
it. We may have impressions,
sensations of the place, the light, the day,
but it is the animal
itself which transcends and enters our spirit. Such
is the gift
the tiger brings to our imagination, and it is this feeling
which
I have tried to express. |
